Volunteers are needed to greet taxpayers or to prepare basic individual income tax returns on an easy-to-use computer program. Volunteers are trained by CCAV and the IRS, and enjoy protections under state and federal Volunteer Protection Acts.

Training for Greeters will be held Tuesday, January 12 at 5:30 p.m. at the offices of the Lubbock Housing Finance Corporation, 3212 Avenue Q.

Training and testing for Tax Preparers will be held in January, 2010 in Room 154 of Texas Tech's Business Administration building as follows:

Basic Training	Tuesday	January 5th	5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m
Intermediate Training (optional)	Thursday	January 7th	5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Basic and Intermediate Testing	Saturday	January 9th	9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Basic Training (repeated)	Thursday	January 14th	>5:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
	*Lunch will be served on Saturday*

Volunteers are asked to complete and mail or fax (to 765-5828) the Volunteer Registration and Criminal Background Check forms no later than January 5, 2010. Since CCAV volunteers handle so much confidential information, a criminal background check must be performed on each volunteer - at no cost to the volunteer.
